Our business, eGarbo, started in
2009 with the introduction of new laws in how e-waste would be collected on
the north shore of Sydney.
Our e-waste is either refurbished with your permission or taken to a recycling centre in Australia for processing in Australia. The recycled e-waste is not sent overseas for recycling where it could be exposed to corrupt methods of extracting precious metals. This could include child labour, and unsafe handling of e-waste that contains hazardous pollutants such as Lead and Mercury. In Asia and Africa, people often just put in straight over an open fire. These same pollutants in Australian landfill also kill our wildlife when it ends up in our recreational waterways. We give a guestimate on the weight to save time in weighing possibly many small items. If you cannot be at the pickup then we can give you a quote over the phone. Certification can be provided on request in the form of a Certificate of Recycling. |
